Electronic cigarettes better than normal cigarettes?

An Electronic Cigarette is a healthier way of quenching your cigarette/nicotine needs. I've been a smoker since I was in college, that is well over 15 years of smoking cigarettes, and just about 3 years of "quitting cigarettes" experience.

Just recently, about 3 months ago to be exact, I tried my first electronic cigarette. I saw a kiosk in a mall and just got curious as I have never seen the word "electronic" and "cigarette" used in combination. So with my new found curiosity and desire to quit, I (stupidly without research) bought an electronic cigarette for $120 dollars. I don't really want to tell you the name of the kiosk, but if you are a regular "esmoker" or vapper as the cool kids call it, you probably know what brand I'm talking about. For those of you who are wanting to buy your own ecig, typical prices are $35-45 USD. The $120 ecig I bought was a rip off of massive proportions, although they have a 1 year warranty (with really bad customer service). If you want to know the brand of the $120 ripoff, pm me. I don't wanna trash their name, some people may enjoy them and I don't wanna start any flames.

My first thought was "this is AMAZING". There I was, taking my first drag of a slick looking shiny/glossy white ELECTRONIC cigarette, thinking "I could get used to this!". The feeling isn't exactly the same, you still feel more on your throat from normal cigarettes and you don't get the feeling of...accomplishment(at least I do) when you watch your cig burn and it put out on the ashtray.

An electronic cigarette has mainly 4 ingredients, I've been researching them and found that the typical eliquid(the stuff you put in your cartridge) is propelyene glycol, water, flavoring and if you want it, there can also be nicotine. I was familiar with propelyene glycol because I do alot of baking for the kids, I was just surprised that it was being used to produce smoke.

How does an Ecig work?

There are three parts to an Electronic Cigarette, namely the rechargeable battery, the atomizer, and the mouthpiece. Some models may differ, but your typical ecig has 3 parts.

The rechargeable battery, obviously powers the ecigarette. The atomizer is what vaporizes the liquid. And the cartridge is what stores your liquid.

Have you tried quitting smoking? Well, quitting smoking with electronic cigarettes is the easiest way to get off of nicotine. I find this true because of the fact people can still enjoy playing with smoke, without the nicotine, the tar, and the carcinogens.
